About
Born and raised in the small desert town of Victorville, California, Anthony J. Gonzales moved to Los Angeles where he earned a BA in Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California. Not long after graduating he began his professional career by working in reality television. He quickly rose through the ranks and by the age of 25 was directing the hit CBS series "Big Brother." Anthony directed games and competitions of the series for 8 seasons. He went on to direct CBS's "Undercover Boss" (Season 3), Lifetime's breakout docu-series "Dance Moms," the spin-off, "Dance Moms: Miami," and live events such as the international break dancing competition, "Red Bull BC One."
Working in different genres of reality television has taught Anthony to work with a myriad of budgets and with an expansive variety of shooting styles, but his skills are far from limited to directing alone. He also has a strong technical background and was the Engineer In Charge of Fox’s "Hell’s Kitchen" (10 Seasons) where he designed and built the 79 robotic camera control room. He has worked as Technical Director of the live-to-air NFL Channel news show "Total Access" and for the SyFy channel he acted as Tech Manager of the international paranormal travel show, "Destination Truth." From Hollywood to the Bering Sea to Antarctica and all points in-between, Anthony prides himself on being able to bring a uniquely cinematic look to reality television anywhere in the world and under any circumstances. Whether it be competition based, docu-series, or long-form documentary, Anthony directs his shows with style and spectacle. |
