Shameless Self Promotion

“Over the Wall” screened at the Beverly Hills Shorts Film Festival on March 4th. It was there that I was interviewed by True Hollywood Talk. I’ve done a few of these online interviews and this is by far one of the better ones because of one man, Steven Buchsbaum. Without his great questions and NBA sized height this interview would have turned out just like all the rest.
Thank you Steve for taking the time to talk with me. I look forward to speaking with you again at the world premiere of my feature film.

Save the Cheerleader

I forgot that part of my job as a filmmaker is to party hard and mingle with famous people. I guess this is what the corporate world would call a “fringe benefit,” or maybe they call it “collateral damage.” No, they probably would just call it a party. The “party” is an essential element of the filmmaking process. Fortunately for me I went to a school that knew this to be true. When I was at USC I never understood why they would pay for a keg of beer every Thursday night and call it “Shmooze-Fest,” but after a week at the Newport Beach Film Festival it has all become clear. Drinking is part of the job. Absolute Pear and Level Vodka sponsored the parties, Newport Beach provided the women and Hollywood brought the filmmakers. It was the perfect recipe for making movies. Actors, Directors, Writers, Distrubutors and other types of filmmakers made it down to the festival this year to congratulate each other on some very good work and to forge new relationships.
Scott was great at introducing me to the most important people in the room. And, he did a fantastic job advocating our film, Over the Wall. He promoted it so well that we sold out our Sunday screening. I think this girl is related to John Wayne?
